Space Sentinels Space Sentinels is a 70’s Children’s TV cartoon, which was produced by Filmation. Originally it started life as a show called The Young Sentinels and was renamed halfway through the series to the Space Sentinels. A total of 13 Episodes were made.     Story  Many centuries ago 3 people were carefully selected by an alien computer called Sentinel One. They were transported to its home planet where they were given astounding powers and eternal youth. They returned to Earth in a Spaceship along with Sentinel One and his maintenance robot, Mo (who is in love with Astraea). The Spaceship was hidden in the crater of an extinct volcano on a remote island.   The Space Sentinels consisted of Hercules, who had the strength of 100 men. Astraea, who had the ability to transform into any living creature and Mercury, who could run at the speed of light. They are not the first Space Sentinels. Thousands of years ago another was chosen - Morpheus. He was given all of the powers of the others - Super Strength / Molecular Change / Lightening Speed, but instead of using them for good, he used them for evil and wanted to rule the Universe.   Morpheus sought out the other 3 Space Sentinels and planned to steal the plans for Sentinel One and create thousands of them to help him rule the Universe. But his plans backfired when the original Sentinel One contacted the newly created ones and explained Morpheus's plans.
